PROJECT BRIEF: CREATE A BESPOKE FAST DRYING FLOOR PAINT
We looked at the formulation archive and elected to create a bespoke one-pack floor coating manufactured on urethane modified alkyd.
Bespoke Product Properties:
- 1K floor finish based on urethane modified alkyd
- Very fast drying
- Minimum substrate temperature 5 degrees C
- Theoretical spreading rate 5 m2 per litre
- Touch dry after 60 min. at 20 degrees C
- Over coating interval min. 4 hour
- Finish: Low Gloss Sheen
- Why This Product: This would dry extremely quickly allowing for minimised downtime.

I also potentially needed the paint for first thing Friday morning (300 ltrs). John did an overnight test and came back to me with a “yes” on Thursday. Due to the urgency of the job I also called other paint suppliers but John at Regal paints was the only person I spoke to who could tell me more than the label would have done! My clients messed around to say the least and finally decided on Friday morning that they wanted to double the area and have it done on Sunday night ready for Monday morning. I did not think that we stood a chance but when I spoke to John he felt it was possible. So 600 ltrs of a bespoke mix paint were on an overnight carrier within 5-6 hours. I have never worked with Regal paints before but if this is the kind of service you can get on a Friday afternoon as a new customer I would highly recommend them.
